Sig Sauer has new headquaters
Hat Tip: Serious Gun Blog
The agreement details a 15-year sublease with Winstanley Enterprises LLC, current owner of the 206,000-square-foot tradeport facility. The former Celestica facility has been vacant since 2003.
The new campus will be home to the company’s corporate and manufacturing areas. Officials say the property will provide SIG Sauer with three times the usable work space of its current headquarters at 18 Industrial Drive in Exeter.

Sig Sauer 1911 in .357 SIG
Caleb broke the news that Sig is going to be offering a 1911 pistol chambered in .357 SIG.
Initially, four models of SIG SAUER 1911s will be offered in .357SIG, two 5″ full-size guns and two 4.2″ carry models. Following their .45 Auto counterparts, these 1911s feature match-grade barrels, hammers and sears. Skeletonized triggers and hammers reduce lock time and offer enhanced accuracy. This is really cool, and its something that I think 1911 fanboys are going to go nuts over. The Coonan .357 magnum 1911 has been out for a while now, but I have been really surprised that no one has offered a 1911 yet in .357 SIG. I'm no gun builder, but I would think that producing a quality 1911 in .357 SIG would be far less challenging than .357 magnum. Not to bad mouth the Coonan at all... both pistols have their place and both will appeal to various consumers. Celebrate diversity, people!
I've said it before and I'll say it again... Its a great time to be a Gunnie aint it!?

SIG P224
Richard has all the specs and this pic:
Essentially a cut-down P229, the SIG SAUER P224 is a subcompact pistol in the classic SIG series (P226, etc.). The new guns will be double stack pistols chambered in 9mm, .40 S&W and .357 SIG. MSRP on the guns is more than $1000, but expect to see them sell for less through your local retailer.Basically, its a subcompact Sig thats aimed at competing with the Glock 26 and the like. I find it interesting that Sig is going after the double-stack market as opposed to the current rage that is the single-stack micro 9s. Perhaps they have the foresight to see that those micro 9s are gonna be the flash in the pan that I think they are or perhaps they are just completely off the mark. Either way, this gun will at the very least be very desirable to the Sig devotees (which are numerous) so they should sell a bunch of them.

Walmart lists ARs on their Website
Yes, Walmart (not associated with Gunmart - We've always carried ARs). I've mentioned it several times in the past that not long ago Walmart (not associated with Gunmart) very quietly started selling plain Jane Bushmaster ARs... and then more specialized Sig Sauer ARs. Now they are showing up on their website. Enjoy!
