... There was no Ruger SR-30 revealed. WTF? I thought for sure they were holding it back so that they could have a little thunder at the NRA Meeting. I guess its just not ready for prime time yet.

Some thoughts on the Ruger 10/22 Breakdown Rifle

Last week Ruger unveiled their new 10/22 Breakdown rifle. They have also already been spotted in the wild. Here are my thoughts on the new rifle...

Its an incredibly awesome rifle!..... Its perfectly executed!..... They are selling it at the perfect price point!..... I have no desire whatsoever to buy one. Seriously. None.

Ruger 10/22 Takedown already in gun shops

Dann spotted one in the wild and has a write up about it over at his blog. I have also seen it for sale on the interwebs already. Here it is for $300 with a "available soon" tag... but you can go ahead and reserve one for yourself if you want. Ruger may not be taking orders, but these are already in the supply chain.

Michael Bane hints at a new gun from Ruger

Over at his blog he mentions that there is a new super sweet rimfire that he cant tell us about yet... my guess it will show up at NRA Show.

Apparently The Firearm Blog stole my gripes about that new Ruger SR22 pistol word for word... lol

Whilst I like this pistol, I am slightly disappointed that Ruger did not pattern it 1:1 on the SR9/SR40 pistols. The grip, controls and, of course, the action are not the same the larger centerfire pistols. The 10 round magazine is also disappointing but I fully expect that Ruger will announce a larger capacity magazine later this year. My last complaint is the name. Ruger also has a SR-22 rifle, so googling for "SR-22" will return two years of webpages and videos written about the SR-22 rifle.

Amen! I honestly could not have said it better myself. What is everyone else's opinion on the matter?

The Gun Source is now taking pre-orders for the new LCR-22 from Ruger. Like I mentioned on Twitter the other day, these guns are already shipping, so it wont be too terribly long before they have them in hand and ready to ship. $398 is a better price than I thought they would debut at.

More details on those Ruger LCP/LC9 Lasers

Guns Holsters and Gear is reporting a few interesting specs that are now showing up online about these new laser/gun combos:

The general specs on both of the CenterFire models state the units use a red 650 nm laser operating at 5 mW.  Both units weigh 0.5 ounces and use a 1/3 N lithium battery.  Run time is estimated at more than five hours of constant use.  The CenterFire units are factory aligned at 10 yards, but are also user adjustable for both windage and elevation.  Each unit comes with a one year warranty from LaserMax.

The CenterFire laser units for both the Ruger LCP and LC9 have an MSRP of $129.  LaserMax states the CenterFire for the LCP has a ship date of 11/18/2011, but they are accepting pre-orders.  The LC9 lasers appear to be in stock now.
