Dont Believe the 300 AAC BLK Hype

Savage doesnt... in fact, RTB is reporting that Savage is scrapping their earlier plans to chamber one of their bolt guns in that caliber.... citing that the real usefulness of the new caliber lies in the sub-sonic loads while suppressed, and that accuracy results with the sub-sonic loads were greatly lacking.

That kinda was the original intent of the design. The Honey Badger was brought forth as a way to replace the MP5.

Leupold offers retical calibrated for 300 AAC Blackout

Tactical Guns Review has a look.

This is huge. Like I have said of recent, we can probably stop calling the 300 AAC a wildcat cartridge because it is now clear that it is here to stay. A bunch of manufacturers are now officially behind the Blackout and there will be many rifle chambered in this caliber in 2012. For Leupold to be jumping into the mix, its a great sign, and maybe a hint that the military contracts may soon be coming.

.300 AAC Blackout Testing

Done by Andrew... he's got some great data on accuracy and velocity through an 8" and 10" upper to share.

*As I have noted in the past, I am almost 100% all-in on this caliber and am tossing around the idea of getting myself an upper in .300 AAC Blackout.... perhaps a Daniel Defense?

What is the perfect AR-15 rifle?

Mr Bloghorn Leghorn (aka Nick Foghorn) has declared it to be his .300 AAC Model that he has assembled (seen below). He says that it will ring the bell at 250 yards away with boring regularity. He has a video and full parts list (with prices) over at the link.

BTW - As far as the whole perfect AR-15 thing is concerned... I go with more of a "love the one you're with philosophy". YMMV.

Video: FPS Russia With The AAC Honey Badger

I usually dont post this guy's videos.... he is over the top and sensationalistic. The fake Russian accent is also ridiculous beyond belief.

That being said... He does some really cool stuff, and I wish I could do a few range days with this guy, but I usually dont think his vids are worth my time. However, I am totally salivating over the Honey Badger, and any vids of range time with it are gold right now... so here you go.

- M4 Style Handguards
- Aluminum Delta Ring
