A pretty good read... and at Bloomberg no less. Pretty good product suggestions as provided by OpenCarry.org founder John Pierce.

Legal Question about Open Carry
So here is my question... How can people that work at a gun shop legally open carry if the gun shop is in a place where open carry is not legal?
In my neck of the woods, that is exactly the case. You can have a gun at work for protection (without even needing a concealed weapons permit), but open carry is not legal and open carry in your place of business is not specifically stated as being legal.
So how do they get away with it in the shop or out in the parking lot area? There are never any legal issues with it at all (the cops that are in there all the time dont care). Its kinda just a given, but I'm not really sure that it is technically legal.

Rob Pincus comments further on the Open Carry controversy
In an email response to my post yesterday about open carry, Rob Pincus had this to say...
Eric,
Thanks for sharing your opinion on the topic. Yes, some people have taken my comments to an unfortunate extreme. Drawing an odd parallel to my disdain for a certain method of activism and a complete betrayal of everything I have believed and often fought far in regard to the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (RKBA).

Open Carry as a political statement
This has been a hot button issue lately since Rob Pincus touched off a firestorm with the following statements:
He went on to say...I think Open Carry is a poor choice in populated areas when you have other options (CCW) to be armed for personal protection. I vehemently believe that you should NOT carry a gun for political reasons, but solely as a means of defense.
