The Glock 26 Comes Home

Yes, I have not been talking very much about this lately. Thats because I loaned the gun out to a family member a few weeks back so that he could use it to do his concealed weapons permit test with. He already has a Kel-Tec P3AT which he will be carrying, but he wanted a little larger gun to do the shooting portion of his testing (which he passed, BTW).

150 more rounds through the new Glock

Yeah, I was able to get some more trigger time with my new carry piece. I put 150 rounds of ball through it without a single problem. I am still only running the #1 magazine... Id really' like to get a few more rounds through that one before I go on to start testing the other two.

I will say that I am really loving the new grip texture on the Gen 4. It a lot less slick than the older generations, and its definitely not as abrasive as the RTF texture. When doing a full mag-dump, I do feel it rub my ring finger but its definitely not something I would classify as uncomfortable.

The large backstrap is also a big plus over the old Gen 3 Glock 26 that I had been carrying. It fills my hand better (I have average size hands, BTW) and it puts my finger much closer to a proper position on the trigger.

Range Trip

I mentioned last week that I recently got my hands on two new products. Well, I was able to sneak out for a range trip yesterday and put some rounds downrange with each. It had been a little while since I'd been shooting, so it was a lot of fun just to work the trigger.... but it was also nice since I got to give the new Glock and the new optic a work out.

I put about 125 rounds through each (give or take), and performance on both were flawless. Of note was the fact that the trigger pull on the new Glock 26 was just as good right out of the box as my old Glock 26 which has had countless rounds through it. The Bushnell TRS-25 was also a surprise. Had no problems at all running running it on my 5.56 caliber Daniel Defense. It held zero just fine throughout the shooting and even with removing and then replacing it halfway through the session.

More to come.

Look what followed me home from the gun store...

"He must have gotten lost; been part of a convoy or something"

Dont worry, I will give him a good home (Wait arent you supposed to refer to guns as women?) Anywho... what you are looking at here is a 9mm Gen 4 Glock 26 with the large back strap installed.
