If video games have taught me anything
... The AK takes much longer to unlock in multiplayer therefore it must be superior to the AR. Heh!
Yes, the web-o-sphere has been all abuzz with the AK/AR debate as of late. For the record, my preference is for the AR... for no reason other than than its my personal preference. I think the whole thing is really silly. Just shoot what you like.
What say you?

New optics rail for the AK
The Firearm Blog is reporting on an interesting new optic rail for the AK. It looks great, but I would prefer one that was half the length.

The AK47
A nice read (and pics) over at Mountain Home News
So....what can one say about the AK-47 that hasn't been said before? Easily the most prolific "killing machine" of the 20th century, it is still respected and feared here in the 21st.

AK Fanboys rejoice!
For the AK-12 is upon us! ..... Or weep, because now you have to buy a whole new platform (I dont know, you decide). It looks pretty cool... Although I can't read Russian, but it does have lots of rails and a shoulder thingy that goes foldy.

Gear Scout is reporting that there is a new AR from Rock River that takes standard AK Mags
Rock River Arms has introduced an AR-15 in 7.62×39 that uses standard AK-47 mags. It should be available in 60-90 days, according to RRA. The bore has a 1/10 twist and is chrome lined. The upper itself was clearanced for AK mags, something those who are interested only in the lower should keep in mind.

Building an American AK
Ebbs continues the journey that is his AK build out. I have to admit... I am starting to become a little bit covetous of that fine looking rifle.

AK Caliber Choice
Great read over at OutdoorHub about what caliber to buy an AK in.
For the prospective AK buyer, there’s several things that will need to be taken under consideration.
Choosing a caliber for your AK is one of the most important decisions you’ll need to make. To make an educated decision, you’ll need to ask yourself what exactly you plan on using your AK for – is it going to be a hunting gun, target shooter or just a plinker? To satisfy any of these aims, AK type rifles are available in 7.62x39mm, 5.45x39mm, 7.62x54mmR, 5.56x45mm (.223 Remington) and 7.62x51mm (.308 Winchester). There are also AK pattern weapons in 12-gauge, 20-gauge and .410, though those will not be covered in this article.

Most potent pistol evah?
Arms Post says that it is the AK Mini Draco... I get the point, but other than for times "when you absolutely, positively have to kill every motha f*cka in the room", I just dont get it. I see it as a really, really cool range toy, but I would not rely on it for personal defense (or offense).
