Shotguns: Pump vs Semi

Michael Bane has been discussing this over at his blog after his comment on his recent show where he green lighted the pump over the semi. It kinda blew up in his face, and you can read all about it on his blog.... here

IMHO, I would not bemoan the reliability of a semi except with the stipulation that you need to shoot the chosen defensive load a good bit in your semi to be certain it will run consistently - Semi auto shotguns can choke on the lighter loads. I do big time agree with his point that you can run a pump all day reloading one round at a time. My personal choice for a hunker down shotgun would be a pump... your mileage may vary.
