Although the gun range granted our request to photograph the event, it declined to give the magazine a press pass. Because we weren’t seeking special, behind-the-scenes access, we didn’t think one was needed to take a big, panoramic picture of the firing line. So we sent Chris and his assistant, Ashlei Quinones, to Kentucky, confident that with a couple of rented ladders he could produce a wonderful picture at what is billed as the Nation’s Largest Machine Gun Shoot.
