Reality Television...

You might have noticed that there has been some controversy that has popped up recently with regard to 'Top Shot'... Yeah, its important to always remember that its always gonna be more television than it is reality... even on the gun shows. From the Haus of Guns interview of Jake Zweig:
Okay well I guess I can only say so much about how things developed, but when you’re in Hollywood I don’t care what you’re doing it’s still gonna be a TV show. I guess I went to it with a different perception of what I thought I would be doing at the start of the show.
(...)

Something interesting to understand about the show is you’re only seeing 10% of what’s going on... As a leader I wasn’t just hog tying guys and forcing them to bow down to me as leader. Mike Hughes was a driving force behind the leadership too, which of course you didn’t see on the show and might be more surprised to hear that it was the case.
And while commenting on how well he shot in the corner shot episode:
The gun worked. I won’t elaborate or say anything else. I’ll just say the gun worked.

I am now really starting to wonder how much of the allegations are actually gonna turn out to be true... and if true, how much longer the show will last. It looks like you know have a few former cast members who are pretty disgruntled and saying things that are not good for the reputation of the show. Going forward, these things are certainly going to make it tough to get contestants on future seasons, and its also gonna make the entire premise of the show hard to swallow for the audience. But as I said yesterday... I dont really think their core audience is reading the Internets.
