Another perspective on the term "Modern Sporting Rifle"

I mentioned Andrew's post yesterday. Today there is a really nice read on the subject over at RTB.... with the addition of his anecdotal experiences of using the term behind the gun counter to interact with some potential gun buyers. I also think that he really nails the entire subject when he said this:


So what should we call them?
Why do we need to call them something different? I always like to use my Grandfather's analogy for his shoes:

"If I'm wearing them in church; they're my church shoes. If I'm running in them; they're my running shoes. If I'm hunting in them; they're my hunting boots."
