Bring enough gun... but not too much

Andrew has a great read over at his blog entitled "How much handgun is too much handgun". Its a great look at the importance of being able to control your handgun and make rapid follow up shots.

For the record, I am in the camp of "there is no such thing as one-shot stops" and I am a firm believer that you damn well better be able to put multiple holes into the bad guy as fast as possible if you want to stop the threat.

I personally think that we in the online firearms community get too caught up in what ballistic numbers tell us and we make carry decisions based on what some idiot with too much machismo in a forum says is the best "man stopper". I got news for ya... *if you happen to miss that first shot with your super, duper magnum wizz-bang ACP or if you need to follow up with one to the mellon to end it all, you are gonna be in bad shape if you cant bring that heater back on plane after it recoiled three feet behind your head after you touched off that first shot.

*Oh, but I forgot... we are all tactical high speed/low drag members of the Internet ninja militia unit and we are fully capable of taking down a tango with one shot/one kill proficiency each and every time... and with one armed tied behind our back just to make it fair.
