are they a UNIVERSAL LITE or just the application? Can you place this on other pistol's or just the 1911 type's?

It would all come down to the trigger guard dimensions if you are wanting to make it work with another gun. Their Glock version worked great on my first gen glock that does not have a rail.
I am sure that they will have more models available soon, but they are of course launching with the most popular models first. They are a very popular item.
