Blogger's dog eats a round of ammo

This is a great read:
I was unloading my usual carry gun for cleaning, but missed the catch when ejecting a round from the chamber.  It hit the floor and started to roll.

By the time I had put my gun down and stood up from my chair to fetch the wayward cartridge, my dog had pounced!

I pried his jaws apart, but the round was nowhere to be seen.  Down the hatch!
I’m not worried about Chris the Dog, as there was no exposed lead on the bullet.  (Jacketed Hollow Points (JHP) only for my defense!)  The only thing that could harm him would be a tiny amount of oil or solvent that could be clinging to the brass.  Since most dogs count cat turds amongst their favorite snack, something tells me that he won’t suffer too much.
Modern ammunition is essentially immune to the weather, and will still be good even though immersed in water for some weeks.  But what about the bile and churning encountered in the stomach of a dog?  Seems to be a good chance to find out!
But then I considered what I would have to do to recover the round after it has made this particular fantasic journey.

There are some things that I won’t do even for you, my valued readers.
